About Us - Oregon Wedding Showcase

Oregon Wedding Showcase is a locally owned business that has been producing successful bridal shows in Salem and Eugene since 2004. Started in Salem over 20 years ago by SReese Productionsthe shows were then known as the Mid-Willamette Valley Bridal Show and Emerald City Bridal Show. Employed by SReese current OWS owner Judy VanValkenberg fell in love with the shows and found a way to purchase them when the owner retired.

This long history at the same locations have brought the stability and knowledge to give us an edge in creating a great show experience for both brides and exhibitors. We value the relationships we have built with both venues and exhibitors and enjoy working together to put on a great bridal event.

The professional groups we belong to help us stay on top of the business community locally and in the bridal business community around the world.

We are proud members of both the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce.

Another group very important in our success is Bridal Show Producers International. This non-profit trade association is dedicated to helping members produce professional bridal shows for the benefit of both exhibiting businesses and the attending brides and grooms. In addition to an annual conference that is a wealth of information BSPi has a network and active user group that allows us to get questions answered, get opinions, and find out what wedding professional are doing not only across the United States but in different parts of the world.

Meet Our Staff

Judy VanValkenberg

Owner, Show Producer

As show owner Judy has an influence in every aspect of the business. She sells, handles customer relations, and does all the marketing and advertising. Judy began her career in the wedding industry at Mr. Formal where she worked for 10 years. Her next position was as an account executive for a local film processing lab. It was at this job she realized her passion for helping small businesses with marketing themselves. Producing bridal shows was the perfect way to combine what she had learned and the things she loved from her work history. Having experienced the industry from the vendor side she has special understanding of how to meet the needs of exhibitors. Interacting with people is a strength and she takes great pride in contributing to the sucess of our vendors.

Judy lives in Monmouth, the home base of Oregon Wedding Showcase. She has been married to Jay for 22 years and they have a son, Ryan.

Jay VanValkenberg

Owner, IT Person

Jay works a full time job outside his contributions to putting on our shows. He keeps us current with all things"geeky" and makes sure we are using technology to our advantage. He designed our at-show registration computer area and is the person you will see setting it up. In addition he is our main voice on facebook--a task he has consistently and sucessfully used to foster communication with both brides and vendors. You will see Jay working at the shows doing everything from getting a needed tool to help an exhibitor to taking pictures to post online to promote the show.

Linda Fowler

Assistant Show Producer

Linda has worked for us over 10 years now in almost every aspect of the business. At the shows she is in charge of coordinating the entrance and registration area. Her work history includes over 10 years in restaurant management. Customer service is her favorite part of the job whether working with a vendor or a bride. Linda lives and works out of Eugene. She is married to Donald and has 3 children --a son who is a freshman in high school and 2 daughters. At the ages 20 & 24 the girls supply constant insight into the demographic our brides are in.

Ryan VanValkenberg

Computer Consultant and Show Staff

As the son of the owners Ryan is ready and available to help out. Lucky for us he is also willing! At our shows you can see him helping Jay set up the computers, hanging banners, and keeping the floors safe and dry. He is the guy his mom goes to when she has a computer question or problem. We also make use of his photography talent by having him take pictures of the show.

Bride Registration

We love to brag about our girls up front. Our registration crew is comprised of nieces, daughters, and friends. Most have worked at the shows for several years and will rearrange their schedules to do so because they love it. They are responsible for the first impression our show gives the brides and their sets the tone for the whole bridal show experience. They know how to put someone at ease if they seem apprehensive as well as enjoy admiring a sparkly engagement ring. Brides walk into the exhibition hall prepared and excited thanks to them!
